Position Summary:

Under general supervision, in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations, the Retail Team Leader (RTL) will perform a broad variety of member service functions such as opening new share and share draft accounts, IRA's, power of attorney and trust transactions, beneficiary claims, acts as notary, and performs all teller functions accurately. Proficient in opening accounts in OA (Opening Act). Conducts consumer loan interviews, reviews documentation, processes consumer loan applications. Is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of all assigned loan files. Requires leadership and mentoring skills including, but not limited to answering MSR questions, handling escalated member inquiries, monitoring "Better Lobby" during the business day, documenting team meeting minutes. Responsible for opening and closing the branch. Maintains open communication between department staff and management; supervises department activities in the absence of the Manager. Assures that all staff and members are treated with consideration and respect.

 

Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities

 35%   Performs MSR (Member Service Representative) and teller functions as required.

 30%   Responsible for opening and closing the branch. Help with coaching and training functions as required. (New employees or existing employees).

 15%   Conducts consumer loan interviews, reviews documentation, processes consumer loans. Is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of all assigned loan files.  

 10%   Cross-sells USF FCU products and services to meet member needs.

 5%    May be required to cross train and travel to work in other locations or departments.

 5%    Performs other duties as assigned.

 Education:

  •  High School Diploma or education equivalent to High School Diploma
  •  Prefer at least an associate degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, however not required.

Experience:

  •  3-5 years of experience in financial institution with lending or member service experience.  

Other Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively deal with people under adverse and stressful conditions.
  • Must be a Notary or be able to become one upon employment.
  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
